To Be In Anothers Shoe and Realizing It Fits

I have met several Muslims online and am surprised when they talk about peace, freedom, non-violence and love.  Expecting instead for them to tell me to hang myself because I'm an American.

I try to understand others by putting myself in their shoes - doing this, I have tried to imagine America being ruled by the KKK, skin heads or some similar off the cuff group who claims to believe in Jesus and I can imagine the Muslim world.

I would have to ask why them and not us and I can only conclude two things, money and freedom, we have it and they don't.

I can then conclude what the 9/11 commission determined, to stop terrorism we must provide food, medicine and education.  The last couple of years has provided ample proof that military action does not work.

And then comes the hardest part, realizing that we too are terrorist, and much of what I read and see each day from the news media is one sided propaganda.
